About the Programme

Welcome to Liforme’s Racial Diversity in Yoga Programme, dedicated to cultivating a more racially inclusive and equitable Yoga landscape that reflects a diverse range of practitioners and perspectives, by giving visibility, and in some cases, funding to local grassroots events, initiatives and organisations/individuals advancing this mission.

Get involved by submitting your initiative that promotes racial diversity in Yoga to be featured on our Community Hub or by contributing to our Community Fund, which offers financial grants to selected initiatives and individuals. Liforme have kicked things off by making an initial donation of $15,000 to the Fund. Join us as we work together to make sure Yoga is available and welcoming to all.

What Grants do you offer?

Grants from the Racial Diversity in Yoga Programme Fund will be allocated based on two criteria categories:

Category 1: USD $500 for events with less than 50 participants, or grass roots, local community events.

Category 2: USD $1000 for events with 50+ participants or for individuals to support their annual calendar of events and activities.

These are subject to change.

What is the eligibility criteria to become a Grant recipient?

Recipients should be an organisation, Yoga teacher training programme, grassroots event(s) or individual Yogis focused on advancing cultural and racial diversity within the Yoga and Wellness space, and we must be able to directly contact the intended recipients in order to verify their identity and request further information if necessary.

For full details,see here.

How does Liforme select those that receive Grants?

Recipients of grants will be picked at random from the list of all eligible initiatives, and all picks will then be subject to further clear and transparent verification checks. The exception to this will be a limited amount of initiatives which may be supported by direct allocations of the fund at Liforme’s discretion (such as initiatives by Liforme’s ambassadors), but on the basis that such initiatives selected by Liforme directly will only be funded by donations made by Liforme itself directly to the Fund. Liforme will aggregate all nominations received, and allocate the funds to recipients of grants on a quarterly basis (or with different frequency at Liforme’s discretion).

For full details, see here.

How much of what I donate will actually go the causes being funded?

Liforme pledges to administer the fund from its own resources without any charges, except only for payment processing fees. So you can be sure that almost all of the money you donate will go directly to supporting grantees of the fund and their initiatives aimed at promoting racial diversity within the Yoga and wellness community.
