Throughout the design process we've consulted and gathered inspiration from some of the best yogis in the Yoga cosmos.
We all love Yoga at Liforme. Some of us are top-notch Yoga teachers, and we all want to give you a quality product to help further your Yoga practice.
Perfectionist is a conservative term for us.
We're exacting from start to finish and we are confident the Liforme Yoga Mat is as good as it gets.
Our unique, and revolutionary, AlignForMe System works as a navigational tool for your Yoga asana practise. No more will you have to flounder around, wondering what should go where, or guessing if you're in alignment.
Our system is unique. The combination of intelligent markers gives you as much, or as little, guidance as you need.
Patanjali nailed it when he said: "Sthira Sukham Asanam" (Asana is a steady comfortable posture).
One of the most important functions of a Yoga mat is to provide grip. Slipping around can make your practice ineffective, or even dangerous.
We took all of this to heart, when we scoured the planet for the best possible materials for our Liforme Yoga Mat.
We believe our revolutionary "GripForMe" material is the grippiest Yoga mat material currently available on earth. And it stays grippy even when 'sweaty wet'.
Feeling is believing. GripForMe.
We don't know about you, but in some postures our bony bits dig into the floor and it doesn't feel good. These areas (knees and hips, for instance) should be protected, we think.
We've used a strong natural rubber base and added a cushioned felt portion in between that and the top layer of the mat. This provides a deep cushioned and yet very solid and stable practising surface.
Although we live in London and practice Yoga in tiny spaces – in studio apartments bumping into our furniture or in crowded Yoga classes bumping into other yogis' asanas (!) – we'd prefer to have a little bit more space. So we've created it on our mat.
Our mat is a few inches wider and longer than regular Yoga mats making it accessible for Kylie-sized to Michael Jordan-sized yogis, and everyone in between.
We believe in being as 'planet friendly' as possible. Who doesn't these days? Well, sadly a few companies are still in the dark ages. We're not though, thankfully.
We've also taken a moment to think about your physical wellbeing and have used the most 'body kind' materials and processes that we could, in engineering and making the Liforme Yoga Mat.
We've used naturally sourced sustainable rubber for the bulk of the mat.
We've etched the AlignForMe markers on the mat instead of printing with potentially harmful inks.
We've also used a revolutionary heat-bonding process that eliminates the need for toxic glues to bind the top layer to the base layer.
Our mat is PVC-free so it doesn't contain any nasty 'heavy metals' such as lead and cadmium (and we're not talking about the Guns and Roses type - as far as we know Axl and co. don't 'do' Yoga mats, sadly.)
